As part of their Science studies, students explored the unique features and adaptations of Australian animals and investigated how these characteristics help them survive in their natural environments. They then brought their learning to life by creating detailed dioramas that accurately represented their chosen animal's habitat.
The showcase provided a wonderful opportunity for students to share their knowledge with an authentic audience. Parents and carers, along with students from Prep to Year 4, were invited to visit the displays and learn about the fascinating adaptations of Australia's native wildlife. From camouflage and specialised diets to physical features that help animals thrive in diverse environments, our senior students confidently explained their research and answered questions from their visitors.
The event was a fantastic celebration of student learning, with students demonstrating not only their scientific understanding but also their creativity, communication skills and enthusiasm for sharing their knowledge with others.
We are incredibly proud of the effort and dedication shown by our Year 5–6 students and thank the many families who joined us to celebrate their achievements. The showcase was a wonderful example of engaging, authentic learning in action and highlighted the curiosity and passion our students bring to their studies.
