Last week, our school community came together to celebrate the great feast of Pentecost—one of the most significant moments in our Church’s story. Pentecost marks the time when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, giving them courage and wisdom to go out and share the Good News of Jesus with the world. It is often referred to as the “birthday of the Church,” as this moment began the mission of the Church community we are still part of today.
To honour this special occasion, our students and staff gathered in prayer and celebration, reflecting on the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We also embraced the joy of Pentecost as a birthday celebration—complete with birthday cake! This was a meaningful and tangible way for our students to connect with the idea of the Church’s beginning and to recognise that we are all part of its ongoing story.
As a community of faith, Pentecost reminds us that the Spirit is alive in each of us, guiding us to live with courage, kindness and love. May we continue to be inspired by the example of the disciples and be people who share God’s message in our words and actions each day.
