We are incredibly proud of four of our Year 4 students who recently represented St Joseph’s in a Japanese Language Competition, showcasing their growing language skills, confidence and enthusiasm for learning Japanese.
Our students competed alongside students from other schools, demonstrating the knowledge and skills they have developed through their Japanese studies. We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students, with one student winning their competition and another receiving a High Commendation award.
At St Joseph’s, students begin learning Japanese from Year 3, building their language and cultural understanding through engaging and interactive lessons. Opportunities such as this competition allow students to apply their learning in authentic contexts and challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
We extend our congratulations to all four students who participated. Their dedication, courage and willingness to step outside their comfort zones are to be applauded. They represented our school beautifully and should be very proud of their achievements.
A special thank you also goes to our wonderful Japanese teacher, Sensei Kayo, whose passion, expertise and encouragement inspire our students to develop a love of language learning. Her commitment to providing rich learning opportunities has played an important role in our students’ success.
